An Answered Prayer

As usual, some unsettling events have taken place in the life of one of my brothers. I've recently put his name on the prayer roll at the temple and I felt a strong desire to remember him in my evening prayers last night. For some reason my prayer came haltingly. I asked Heavenly Father to watch over him and to protect him. I asked that he would send his angels to be about him. I asked him to bless him with comfort and to help him to know of His love for him. I also asked that Heavenly Father's will be done in his life.

This afternoon I was informed that an attempt was made on my brother's life last night. He told our mom that God woke him up at the very moment the deed was to be accomplished. Simultanesly, help rushed to his rescue. I'm so humbled by God's love. I'm grateful for the power of prayer. I realize that my brother's mental limitations keeps him from most of the joys of life but God has seen fit to give him the comfort of knowing God cares him even if he can't feel that comfort everyday I know he's felt it TODAY.

May we always heed promptings to pray. May we take time to praise God and give thanks to him and his son Jesus Christ for the blessed gift of prayer.

May God Bless You All.
Cindy
